RCBP at the last round of the Nationals - Scottish 1/10th and Rallycross

So this last weekend was the last round of the Scottish 1/10th Nationals.

It was a gorgeous sunny day at Dumfries for the last round of the Scottish 10th off road and John Gorman was up there representing RCPB with his fine looking Xray Xb4. The track started off as damp grass and soon turned dry and balding and fast! In Q1 he had a good run with no real issues and got 2nd in my heat and a 6th overall in round 1. In Q2 he had an average run getting tangled in back markers whilst lapping them, end result was 11th in round. In Q3, another good run again on a quickening track and another 2nd in heat and 6th in round. Q4 another 11th in round! Overall qualifying position was A6. Start of the A saw him back to last after a messy lap one but he got back up to 9^th where he finished. Overall John finished a very impressive 10^th in 4wd and 3rd overall in veterans. A brilliant series for John in his first year doing the Scottish nationals! Massive well done!!

Down in Slough it was the last in the 1/8^th Rallycross nationals, lots of RCPB drivers were competing. Matt Box, Milan Dragojlovic, Steve Shakespeare, Kong McKenzie, Alex Page, Elliot Jones, Ben Billing, Gary Gregory and Chris Lovell were all competing. The track was looking amazing. The weather on the other hand was indifferent, some rounds of qualifying were dry and some were wet mixing things up. After all 5 rounds Milan and his Mx Powered Agama were 21^st and top RCPB driver. Gary Gregory and his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho (pictured below) were a very impressive 44^th, Matt Box and his MP9 was 47^th and Ben Billing and his Nova Rossi/Sworkz Combo were just behind him in 52^nd. Steve with his Reds powered Kyosho ended up 54^th. In 64^th and in his 2^nd ever national was Chris Lovell and his Mugen MBx7R, and fellow Mugen man Alex was 68^th. Elliot and his Sworkz were 80^th, and Kong was 74^th with his Mugen.

Up in the B 1/16^th finals we had Elliot, Kong, Alex and Chris. Elliot had a great start and he ended up going from 10^th to finish 6^th and just behind Alex in 5^th, Kong had a good race too and finished in impressive 9^th. It was Chris Lovell who would have the best race of the bunch, he lead for a good chunk of the 20mins and came home for the Win in fine style. He would join Gary, Ben and Steve in the 1/8^th B.

He would yet again have a fantastic race, going from the back of the grid to get 1^st again. An amazing drive, his Ielasi Tuned engine was perfect allowing him to one stop both finals. Steve also had a great race, he went from 7^th to finish behind Chris in 2^nd. Gary and Ben would do battle for the last bump spot, Gary leading until a problem meant Ben took his chance and just pipped Gary to the 4^th spot. Brilliant racing by the pair! In the A 1/8^th we had team boss Matt, and he had a brilliant start, he was up at the sharp end until he had an issue forcing him back down the field but he still came in a very good 10^th.

Up to the ¼ finals and Steve, Ben and Chris were in a tough field of racers, all had great races, Ben managed 8^th from 14^th with a fine drive, Chris got 11^th and Steve 14^th. A very impressive day for them all! Milan was in the A side ¼, he and his MX engine were on fire, he had an issue with his shell coming loose but he still managed a brilliant bump to the semi in 3^rd. The pressure was on in the Semi, he was now racing the best in the country but his MX engine combined with the Agama was sublime, he powered through the field to get 6^th and a place in the Main event. His great run would unfortunately end in the A main, with an electrical issue causing him to retire but he still had a brilliant day, once again making the main and battling with the top drivers in the country. Graham Alsop also using MX would get 6^th, a brilliant drive by him to finish off another great year for the driver, he will be on his way to Las Vegas for the world championships next month and all of us at RCPB will be rooting for him along with the rest of the British Team. We also take this oppitunity to say a massive well done to Darren Bloomfield on the national series win, Elliott Boots on 2^nd and Lee Martin and his 3^rd, these guys are great drivers and always willing to help others including RCPB, so well done and thank you!

Milan would finish 11^th in the national series, top place RCPB driver, a massive achievement and a great year for him and all of the RCPB team.
