Another good day for the RCPB team!

Posted by Matt Box on

A cold and frosty Sunday morning (28/12/14) saw the third round of the Nitro X Winter Series being held at Swindon RC Model Car Club.

RCPitbox had representatives in both 1/8th classes – Matt Box in Nitro and Chris Lovell in Electric.

With the track still covered in frost – and in some places ice – qualifying commenced. Chris secured TQ in the electric class with two from three wins in qualifying. Matt secured a respectable 8th place in the A final.

Chris had an excellent start from pole in his final but then encountered difficulties with a back marker on Swindon’s new feature – the crossover. At this point it lost the lead but managed to regain the lead on the next lap and didn’t look back to secure TQ and Win using his Team Orion powered Kyosho MP9e.

Matt, using his Radiosistemi RR8 buggy, had a challenging race but finished in a very good 6th place. Matt’s new JC Racing products teammate, Milan Dragojlovic, finished 2nd after a bump up from the B final with Sworkz driver, Kev Brunsden taking the nitro win.

The result sees Chris lying in 2nd place in the electric championship, and Matt in 6th in nitro with three rounds left so all to play for.
